Proper Lab Attire

University Requirements

Required in all University labs where hazardous materials are present:

  • Long pants or skirts that extend to the ankle
  • Shoes that have closed toes and heels

Other Requirements

Based on department policy or hazards of the task performed, additional base Personal Protective Equipment may be required. Examples include:

  • Goggles or safety glasses
  • Lab coats
  • Gloves

Unacceptable Attire

Acceptable Attire 
(low hazard)

Persona wearing acceptable low-hazard attire as long pants and shoes that have a closed toes and heels.

Additional PPE 
(high hazard)
