Deployment Process
Medical Reserve Corps: Deployment
An MRC deployment brings together members to effectively respond to a public health emergency or disaster. The deployment process follows these steps:
1. Health Emergency Response Office
- Determines that MRC needs to be deployed
- Receives approval from Office of Academic Clinical Affairs leadership to initiate deployment
- Notifies MRC Members (text, email, phone call)
2. Medical Reserve Corps Member
- Receives notification of deployment (text, email, phone call)
- Determines interest and availability
- Obtains approval/permission from instructor/supervisor for absence, if you will be missing class or work time during your MRC deployment shift (coverage form to be completed)
- Signs up for deployment via Shiftboard
3. U of M Medical Reserve Corps Program
- Provides liability protections
- Supports member while deployed
- Provides training
