The University of Minnesota's Department of Emergency Management (DEM) coordinates the development of Building Emergency Plans on campus. They provide a Building Emergency Plan template. Evacuation and shelter-in-place procedures are the focus of the template.
Each health sciences building on campus should have a current Building Emergency Plan. (If your building does not have a plan, department-level plans can be developed.)
A toolkit is available to help create a Building Emergency Plan. Although it's best to create building-wide plans, this toolkit may also be used by departments or portions of buildings (floors, wings, etc.) where there is interest. Contact DEM at [email protected] to identify any previous versions of plans.
