Selecting and Creating Chemicals from the CAD
Chematix has what is referred to as the Chemical Abstract Database (CAD), which contains more than 700,000 chemicals that can be selected when creating a waste pick up request. If you search the CAD for “hydrochloric acid” for example, you will find more than 30 entries to choose from. You should choose the one that best fits the waste that you have.
If you cannot find the chemical or item that you are looking for, select the “Add New Chemical” button as seen below in Step 1, then click the “Generate Z Number” seen in Step 2. Once a Z Number (unique number identifying the chemical or product) has been selected, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select the “Save and Request Review” button. You will then be able to submit the chemical or product for waste pick up.
