Laboratory Safety Awareness Week

Laboratory Safety Awareness Week (LSAW) is just around the corner! The second week of February (9-13) will be our chance to celebrate safety, share knowledge, and engage with our community. Our goal is to make research safety topics approachable and exciting, thus reinforcing safety culture in the lab. We’d appreciate your support in spreading the word and encouraging participation.

Download and Post Safety Posters

HSRM, in collaboration with the Campus Safety, Health, and Environmental Management Association (CSHEMA), have created several new safety posters for LSAW. Please post any relevant posters around your lab, department, or digital display to remind your employees/colleagues of basic safety principles. Topics include Chemical Storage, Compressed Gas Safety, Engineering Controls, Greenhouse Safety, Housekeeping, Peroxide Formers.

Safety Booth Pop-Up

Anybody can stop by our Safety Booth for quick safety tips, resources, and great conversations! Members from each safety team will be on site (lab safety, bio safety, occupational health, workplace safety, and hazardous waste). We will also have live demos, activities and games; test your safety knowledge and win cool prizes!
