These are photos of Aspergillus sydowii under the microscope and in culture. This organism is very similar to Aspergillus versicolor. The colony color of Aspergillus sydowii usually has a more bluish tint.
This species is only occasionally pathogenic (26).
It is commonly found in soil, hay, cotton, and dairy products. It is commonly found growing in water damaged carpet (30).
